Open Call for Art: “Our Community, Our Guidelines”

Submission Deadline: June 30 (end of day)

Social media has never made it easy for queer artists. Constant censorship alongside shifting guidelines and strangely enforced rules make presenting our work the way we would like a frustrating task. And while social media has made queer and homoerotic art so much more accessible, we ask ourselves, do their “community guidelines” actually represent OUR community?  Here at Strok’d, we not only consider sexuality to be an important part of the queer community, but we also celebrate it.

For our first open call for artwork, we’re looking to define OUR community. Whether it’s a piece that has been removed or censored on social media, or if it’s something you are hesitant to post, in fear of losing your account, we want to see it!

What we’re looking for:

  • Artwork that depicts the male form in a homoerotic way

  • Can be any medium: Traditional, photography, digital illustration, sculpture, etc.

Some Restrictions:

While we don’t want to censor anyone, we do have just a few rules:

  • No depictions of people under the age of 18.

  • Nothing that could be considered hateful, non-consensual, or illegal.

  • No AI

What we need from you

  • Feel free to submit up to 3 pieces. (most likely only one will go to print)

  • High resolution scan or photo of the artwork (at least 300 dpi)

In addition to our themed open call, we’re always looking for homoerotic artwork AND writing (Fiction, nonfiction, essays, poetry, etc)  Get creative and show us what you’ve got!
